According to reports, the right-handed batter removed his gear and settled into a chair as the team physio applied an ice pack to his leg. “The Indian captain removed his gear, settled into a chair, and the physio got the ice pack out. There was pain visible on the right-hander’s face when the pack was put on, and the physio later placed the left leg on a chair to get Rohit into a comfortable position," the report read. The injury, however, is not believed to be serious. “The blow didn’t look that serious, and the physio is taking precautions to ensure swelling, if any, subsides. There is still some time left for the Boxing Day Test to begin, and Rohit would hope the pain goes away," it added. The 37-year-old has had a challenging run in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar series. He missed the first Test due to the birth of his baby boy, during which Jasprit Bumrah led the team to a commanding 295-run victory as stand-in captain.Sharma returned for the second Test, batting at No. 6, but was dismissed for just three runs. His struggles continued in the third Test, where he failed to make a significant impact.
